On the night of October 28, a tragedy shocked the neighbors of the Venustiano Carranza municipality in Mexico City (CDMX), when an eight-year-old child lost his life after being hit by a vehicle. The news of the tragedy spread quickly and generated great consternation among the local residents.

The events occurred in the Arenal Segunda Sección neighborhood, where authorities received an alert about a hit-and-run at the intersection of Mextli and Circunvalación streets. Upon arrival, the police found the child lying on the ground without vital signs. Paramedics confirmed that the minor had suffered a traumatic brain injury, which unfortunately cost him his life.

A family member of the child identified the driver of a red van as the one responsible for the accident. The Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) reported the detention of the woman, who is 25 years old and was found a few meters from the accident scene. After informing her of the reason for her arrest, the woman was taken along with the secured vehicle to the public prosecutor's office.

Authorities are conducting the necessary investigations to determine responsibilities and clarify the legal situation of the driver.
